PPA National Award

Volunteers are truly the lifeblood of PPA. PPA has extraordinary volunteers whos efforts deserve special recognition.

Every PPA Community Network member has those extraordinary volunteers whose efforts on behalf of the Community Network  and its members deserve special recognition.

Seeking a way to thank these individuals, PPA created the National Award in 1958.

Each year, PPA makes this prestigious award available to members of the PPA Community Network with PPA – who then presents it to the deserving individuals.

The award recognizes those who generously contribute their time and talents to the service of their profession, their Association/Guild/PPA Community Network, and their fellow photographers.

Selected by the respective PPA Community Network, the recipient may be a PPA member or a PPA non-member and doesn’t have to be in the field of photography.

While the National Award is available annually, it will not be awarded if there is not a suitable candidate.

Individuals may not receive more than one National Award from the same Community Network during their lifetime.

The highest honor granted by a PPA Community Network member, the National Award recognizes those whose support for photography goes far beyond any regular expectations or contributions.

The simple inscription on this plaque reads “for service to professional photography”– but we know that this award means far more than that.

The highest-ranking PPA official of the Executive Committee, a current Board member of the PPA Community Network (WPPA), past PPA President, or a PPA Councilor should make the presentation at a Community Network event.

The National Award is presented by WPPA on behalf of PPA.

The nominations will be reviewed by the Grand Awards Chair with the help of the Award Committee and Current WPPA President and/or the WPPA Executive Board and Fellowship Chair.
