Carl Caylor

MPhotog., Cr, CPP, F-ASP, IPC Juror, Kodak-Alaris Mentor, F-WPPA

Carl is a down-to-earth, portrait photographer and photographic instructor. He is a Kodak-Alaris mentor and has been involved with professional photography for over 25 years. He started his photographic career in the darkroom as a custom printer and technician. He is PPA certified, a master photographer, a craftsman with Professional Photographers of America and an international judge. He has won numerous national awards for his photography, including 29 PPA Loan Collections and several Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece Awards. Most recently Carl was awarded “Fellow of Photography” from the American Society of Photographers.

Carl is the author of the book “Portraiture Unplugged” a guide to natural light portraits and is one of the most sought-after instructors in the country because of his “hands-on” coaching approach. Don’t plan on simply watching in his workshop class—Carl will challenge you to become a better photographer than you already are. His photographic skills are just part of what will help each student. His greatest strength is his ability to see what skills others already possess and then break things down in simple terms to help enhance those skills to reach a new level.

Carl prides himself on working hard to be prepared. He stays current on new concepts but is not afraid to look back to the old. He diligently studies photography and art to give his guests and his students the best service he can.

Gregory Daniel

President PPA

M.Photog.Cr., CPP, F-ASP, IPC Juror

A PPA member for 30 years, Daniel’s photography career began in 1979 when he founded Gregory Daniel Portrait Artist. Today, with the help of his wife Lesa, Daniel operates two successful portrait photography galleries in Florida, one in Indiatlantic and the other in his hometown of Titusville.

As a portrait photographer, Daniel has become known for establishing a friendly, fun relationship with his subjects. Regardless of his subjects’ age, Daniel is able to quickly connect with those he photographs. These bonds show through in the warmth and liveliness his portraits have, making his work pleasing to both clients and art critics alike.

In addition to being a top-notch photographer, Daniel is a bit of an entrepreneur. He is the owner of Daniel Properties, a commercial and residential property management company. Adding to his unique resume, Daniel also held multiple management positions with the Space Shuttle Program from 1979 – 2006.

“I truly love this profession and all that it has provided my family, clients and myself from a creative and financial perspective,” said Daniel. “The skills I have obtained through entrepreneurship, photographic association leadership positions and upper management for the Space Program provide me with some unique resources to contribute.”

It should come as no surprise that Daniel has received much recognition as a photographer. Among his list of accomplishments with PPA, he has achieved the title of Photographic Craftsmen in 1988, Master of Photography in 1989, and received the Imaging Excellence Award in 2005. He has been a PPA-affiliated instructor for many years and has earned numerous awards from PPA affiliates as well. In addition, Daniel has held committee chair positions for Cameracraftsmen of America and is a founding member of the International Society of Portrait Artists (ISPA).

Andrew Jenkins

He goes home in the evening to a wonderful wife, Emily, and three children, Alex, Gabriella and Caroline.

Very successful in state and national photographic competitions, Andrew is also a Certified Professional Photographer and holds both the Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA. He has been honored with Top Seven Photographers in Michigan many times over the past years, and he was awarded Photographer of the Year in the state of Michigan in 2005 and 2007. In addition, Andrew has received the ASP Bronze Medallion and has placed second in the Kodak Gallery Elite Awards. Many of his images have been published in PPA Loan Collection as well as Showcase books. He has also been honored as a PPA Photographer of the Year for the past seven years.

He has also served on the Professional Photographers of Michigan board and has been a trustee for the Great Lakes Institute of Photography. Currently, Andrew is a PPA Councilor, serves as a national affiliated juror and is part of the Burrell Colour Imaging Mentor Program.

Thom Rouse

M.Photog.MEI.Cr., CPP, F-ASP, IPC Juror

Beginning his career in 1994 as a portrait and commercial photographer, Thom Rouse is an artist in every sense of the word. Combining photography and fine art, he now divides his time between commercial, fine art and commissioned fine art images in which his clients are the central focus of his pieces.

His fine art images use real world photographs, blended and manipulated to create an alternative perception. With a unique talent and perspective, Thom merges art in a way that few photographers can.

Highly credentialed, Thom holds the PPA Master of photography, master of electronic imaging, and the photographic craftsman degrees. He is a fellow in the American Society of Photographers and a member of the elite Society XXV. It’s no wonder that he has 54 PPA Loan Collection images and has won the ASP Gold Medallion twice. The recipient of many awards from Kodak, Canon, and Fuji, Thom’s work has been shown on both a national and international level. Thom fills rooms wherever he speaks as he shares his one-of-a-kind experience and expertise—Imaging USA will be no different!
